Ink on fabric, found objects (buttons, hair clips), apron and pioneer scarf (school uniform, USSR, second half of the 1980s)
In this project, the artist works with ink on fabric and found objects from her childhood. Buttons, fragments of clothing, and elements of the school uniform function as artefacts. Together with the images, they create an almost museum-like situation in which an imagined narrative takes on a condensed form of personal memory.
The ink stains recall blots in school exercise books — traces of deviation, uncertainty, and rupture from the norm. At the same time, they open a space for another reading: as signs of beauty, naturalness, and individuality within imperfection. This is contrasted with the memory of a strict discipline of writing, shaped by the demand for order, uniformity, and error-free execution. Between these poles, an experience of control and inner resistance intensifies.
Between objects and stains, a fragile equilibrium emerges — as an attempt to reclaim the right to make mistakes, to individuality, and to freedom.
